General Description
The VSC6511 is a multi mode SMPTE 292M compatible IC with Serializer, Deserializer, or Deserializer with
Reclocker modes which operate at 1.485Gb/s or 1.485/1.001Gb/s.
As a Serializer, 20-bits of data, Y[9:0] and C[9:0], are latched into the part on the rising edge of REFCLK
then NRZ(I) encoded, SMPTE scrambled and serialized out SDO0/SDO0 and/or SDO1/SDO1. An optional
CRC Generator may be enabled.
As a Deserializer, serial data on SDI/SDI is recovered, NRZ(I) decoded, SMPTE de-scrambled and then dese-
rialized. The deserialized data is then frame aligned on SAV/EAV events. Line detection (LINE) and Frame
detection (FRAME) as well as HANC width indication are provided.
As a Deserializer with reclocker, the device functions as in the deserializer mode above and serial data on
SDI/SDI is recovered and retransmitted on SDO0/SDO0 and/or SDO1/SDO1.
